Another four students arrested during the protests were in jail, he said adding that if they got bail documents, they would also be released.

On Aug 5-6, police swung into action in some parts of Dhaka during the protests calling for road safety, and beat student protesters.

They arrested 81 people in 43 cases over alleged attacks on police and vandalism of properties during the protests. Forty-one of them received bail from the Dhaka court on Sunday. Nine of them were released that day.
