Two Islamic University students die by suicide in Kushtia

The daughter of an Islamic University teacher and one of her classmates in the university, reported to be her boyfriend, have died by suicide in Kushtia.

The students of finance and banking department died on Thursday night, Proctor Mahbubur Rahman told bdnews24.com on Friday.

Citing their friends, the proctor said the duo were in a relationship.

‘Hena’, daughter of Prof Ashraful Alam of the university, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room on Thursday evening.

Her boyfriend and classmate ‘Rokonuzzaman’ died by jumping onto the tracks at Mati Miah Rail Gate area later in the night, Abdul Aziz, chief of the local GRP police station, said.

“We are unsure why they decided to take their own lives,” the proctor said.
