Two security guards killed during Narayanganj robbery

Two security guards have been killed during the robbery of three battery stores in Narayanganj’s Bandar Upazila.

The two were killed at a market in the South Lakhankhola area, said Bandar Police OC AKM Shaheen Mandul.

The victims have been identified as Raihan, 55, and Mottaleb, 55.

“The robbers bashed them in the head with bricks,” OC Shaheen said, citing locals. “Raihan died at the scene. Mottaleb was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.”

“The robbers broke the locks on stores belonging to Amir Hossain, Alamgir Hossain and Ainal Haque and stole money, batteries and other goods.”

Police are still calculating the amount stolen, he said.

They are working to arrest the robbers and recover the stolen items, he added.

The store owners are preparing to file cases over the incident.
