The number of institutions where all examinees failed has declined to 55 this year from 72 a year ago.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and the chairmen of all education boards handed over the summary of HSC results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban on Thursday.

“It is to be noted that the number of education institutions where everyone failed has decreased,” Nahid said.

At least 66.64 percent students have passed the HSC and equivalent exams while 29,262 students achieved GPA-5.

All students of 12 institutions under Dinajpur board, six in Dhaka and Rajshahi, four in Jashore, two each in Barishal, Sylhet and Cumilla, and one in Chattogram failed the HSC exams.

All examinees from 13 institutions under the madrasa board and seven institutions under the technical board could not pass the exams either.

On the other hand, all examinees from 400 institutions have passed the HSC exams this year. The number was 532 in 2017.
