The main gas supply line to Narsingdi was damaged during construction work on a drain, according to Titas Gas authorities
The accident took place on Ashulia Road near the Bangladesh Water Development Board office in Mirpur around 7:45am on Tuesday, said Masum Khandaker, sub-inspector of Rupnagar Police Station.
The dead have been identified as ‘Laguna’ driver Hannan, 22, Tawhid, 10, and a 65-year-old man.
A Savar-bound bus crashed into the human haulier on the Ashulia Road, wounding at least 15 passengers of the human haulier, said Shafiqul Islam, a firefighter who joined the rescue effort.
Later, the firefighters took the three critically injured to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where they died, said Bachchu Mia, chief of the DMCH police outpost.
The other injured were taken to other hospitals. Police seized the bus but the driver fled.
