The accident took place at the Palangkhali union’s Balukhali transit centre around 9:30am on Monday, said Md Afruzul Haque Tutul, addition superintendent of Cox’s Bazar Police.

The dead—three women and a child—have not been identified yet, according to the police.

The injured have been admitted to Red Crescent Field Hospital near the Kutupalong Refugee Camp.

“A truck, loaded with bamboo, was heading to the Ukhiya Refugee Camp. It veered out of the driver’s control and struck two autorickshaws and some other vehicles, killing four on the spot,” said Police Superintendent Tutul.

A police team was sent to the scene, he said.
