"We are always in favour of holding dialogue to mitigate any problem, we have resolved many issues like the Land Boundary agreement through this process," she said.

The prime minister made the statement when visiting Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh called on her at Ganabhaban on Saturday morning.

Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary M Nazrul Islam briefed the media after the visit.

He said that the Prime Minister mentioned that Bangladesh strongly condemns terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms.

"In line with its zero tolerance policy against terrorism and violent extremism, Bangladesh does not allow its territory to be used by any terrorist, group and entity acting against any state or people," she said.

Regarding the socioeconomic development of the country under the Awami League government, she said that the administration has given utmost importance to the development of rural areas.

"The father of the nation was the leader of the common people, he always wanted the development of the regular people, we are completing his unfinished works," she said.

She said that Bangladesh had achieved 7.78 percent GDP growth and the main target of the government is to build a self-reliant golden Bengal, which was the dream of Bangabandhu.

Recalling several meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Hasina said that she had a fruitful meeting with her Indian counterpart during her recent Kolkata visit.

Indian Home Minister Rajnath emphasised regional dialogue for eliminating terrorism and militancy. "But it is not occurring due to the non-cooperation of some of the countries," he said.

He mentioned that the relations between Bangladesh and India are now at its peak.

Rajnath said he highly respected the socioeconomic development of Bangladesh, especially the achievement of 7.78 percent GDP, under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.

"This is probably the highest and fastest GDP growth in the world," he said.
