Khulna mayor, councillors take oath
The newly elected mayor and councillors of Khulna City Corporation have taken oaths at a ceremony at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered the oath to Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khalek while the councillors were sworn in by LGRD Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Thursday.
On May 15, Awami League-backed candidate Khalek became the mayor of Khulna city defeating his rival BNP candidate Nazrul Islam Manju.
Khulna has 31 councillors for general wards and 10 for reserved seats.
Local Government Division Senior Secretary Zafar Ahmed Khan conducted the swearing-in ceremony.
