The fight started around 11pm on Monday at the Nayapara refugee camp in Nhilla Union, said Ranjit Kumar Barua, chief of the Teknaf Police Station.

The names and identities of the wounded could not be known immediately.

Currently, more than 1.1 million Rohingya refugees live in Bangladesh.

Of them, about 700,000 have fled Myanmar’s Rakhine State to Bangladesh to escape a crackdown launched the Myanmar army last year following an insurgent attack on security forces.

Ranjit said two rival groups clashed with sharp weapons, injuring 10 people. The victims have deep injury marks on their heads and bodies, he said.

The locals rushed them to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex. Later, six of them were shifted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital as their conditions deteriorated.
