Three missing after trawler capsizes in Barishal river
At least three people, including a child, have gone missing after a trawler capsized in the Karkhana River at Bakerganj Upazila in Barishal.

The incident took place near the DC road in the Pantun area by the upazila’s Faridpur union around 11:30am on Sunday, said Md Masuduzzaman, chief of the Bakerganj Police Station.
The missing have yet to be identified.
OC Masuduzzaman said a trawler was anchored at river shore to take on passengers for a trip to Kobai union. At least 30 to 35 passengers can travel together on the trawler.
“A section of the shore suddenly collapsed onto the trawler and sank it.”
Most of the passengers managed to swim ashore, but three have them remained missing.
A rescue operation is being conducted, the OC said.
