The main Eid congregation will be held at the National Eidgah Ground in Dhaka at 8:30am, with Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Senior Pesh Imam Hafez Maulana Muhammad Mizanur Rahman leading the prayers.

Security agencies have taken measures to ensure safety of the devotees at the main congregation ground.

Police have asked everyone to not bring anything other than prayer rugs and umbrellas there.

But, the main congregation will be held at the Baitul Mukarram at 9am if weather disrupts the prayers at the National Eidgah Ground.

Five congregations are also set to be held at the mosque at 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am and 10:45am.

A congregation will also be held at the South Plaza of the Parliament Building at 8am.

The largest Eid congregation ground at Sholakia in Kisjhoreganj is also ready for the heavily guarded prayers.

Maulana Fariduddin Masud will lead the prayers like the previous years.

Police are deploying three security drones over the ground for the first time this year after attack by suspected militants, believed to be an attempt to kill Maulana Masud, in 2016.

In the port city of Chattogram, the first and main Eid congregation will be held at the Jamiatul Falah Mosque at 8am.

The district authorities are also organising a congregation at 8:30am at the MA Aziz Outer Stadium, which will be shifted to the stadium’s gymnasium in case of rain.
