According to the circulation, the results were published at midnight on Saturday, said Dhaka Education Board's College Inspector Prof Md Harun-Ar-Rashid.

“A total 1,238,252 applicants have been selected in the first list,” he told bdnews24.com on Sunday.

“Among all the applicants, 94 per cent students were put into the first list, the rest will be named in second and third list. All of them will get admissions to colleges.”

According to the government’s college website the selected students have to pay Tk 185 in registration fees through Teletalk, SureCash or Rocket within Jun 11 to 18 to confirm their acceptance, otherwise, the nomination and admission application will be cancelled.

The students were instructed to be admitted to the selected colleges within Jun 27 to 30.

As in previous years, the college admission application process was done online.

A total 1,576,104 students have passed the school completion exams in this year. Among them, 1,319,675 students, including 1,593 students from Open University, have applied for the college admissions.

However, 256,429 students did not apply for college admissions. Education Board officials said they doubted that most of them will be dropped.

The students began to submit their applications for college admission by 11:59pm May 24 online or through mobile SMS.

College Inspector Harun said some of the students had alleged harassment during the submission of application and could apply again.

The second and third merit lists will be published on Jun 21 and 25 respectively, he said.
