Hasan Al Mamun, convener of Bangladesh Council to Protect General Students’ Rights, the platform which is organising the demonstration for quota reforms, announced their decisions on Saturday considering the month of Ramadan.

He alleged the protesters were assaulted, tortured and threatened at different universities and colleges across the country.

“A group is involved in these heinous acts to embarrass the government,” he said demanding action against attackers.

He also condemned the notice served on 25 students of Poet Sufia Kamal Hall at the Dhaka University over an assault on a Bangladesh Chhatra League leader during the protests after she allegedly harassed protesters.

Mamun said the authorities were harassing the 25 students in the name of an investigation.
