Mirzapur Railway Station Master Nazmul Huda Bakul said the Dhaka-bound Chitra Express from Khulna hit the ‘Laguna’ at Duklahati level-crossing after crossing the Bangabandhu Bridge on Friday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as ‘Siam’, a resident of the area where the accident occurred.

The injured are the driver of the carrier Raju Mia, 40, and two passengers. They were admitted to the Kumudini Hospital.

Station Master Bakul said the Chitra Express left for Dhaka when the ‘Laguna’ was removed from the tracks around half an hour after the accident.

Quoting witnesses, he said the ‘Laguna’ broke down on the level-crossing and there was no gateman at the crossing.
