RAB officers also found five jihadist propaganda books and three leaflets in their possession, officials said.

The three were arrested on Sunday night from the upazila’s Baneshwar Bazar area and Jamira village, RAB said at a press conference.

The detainees have been identified as Raju Ahmmed, 24, Farhad Hossain, 30, and Jahangir Alam, 36. All three are from Jamira village in Puthia.

RAB said that the detainees are active members of Anser al-Islam and were carrying out subversive activities in different areas of Puthia over the past few days.

“On a tip-off, a RAB team conducted an operation and arrested Raju from the Baneshwar Bazar area. Farhad and Jahangir were arrested later from Jamira village on the basis of information obtained from Raju.”
