RAB 2 Company Commander Anwar Razzak said the ‘gunfight’ took place at Kelia Morh around 4pm on Tuesday.
He said the deceased were aged between 30 and 40.
“They gathered in the area on gathering information that a nongovernment development organisation of Shoilen area was moving millions of taka,” the RAB officer said.
He said a RAB team went to the area following a tip-off that the robbers had gathered there.
“The RAB personnel retaliated when the trio opened fire. The three died on the spot,” Anwar added.
He also said two RAB members were injured in the ‘gunfight’.
