Mohammadpur Police Station OC Jamal Uddin Mir told bdnews24.com they arrested ‘Imran’, 22, the alleged rapist, in the afternoon.

The girl’s mother started a case against Imran for allegedly raping her daughter who was sent to the police’s victim support centre.

Police, Fire Service and ambulance services can be had by dialling 999 from mobile or fixed telephones.

The helpline was officially launched in December last year after one year of test run.
