Two men killed in road accident in Rangpur
Two men, including a leader of the ruling Awami League party, have been killed when their car veered off the road in Rangpur’s Mithapukur Upazila.

The dead have been identified as Alef Uddin (65) and Mustafizur Rahman (45). Mustafizur is the president of the Dinajpur Sadar Upazila wing of the Awami League.
“Mustafiz was returning to Rangpur town by car from the home of one of his relatives in the Soran neighbourhood. He lost control of his car in the Gilajhuki area, and hit Alef, who was killed on the spot,” said Inspector Muzzamel, officer-in-charge at Mithapukur Police Station.
Local MP AEN Ashikur Rahman and Mithapukur UNO Mamun Ur Rashid visited the scene. The bodies were handed over to the families without an autopsy.
