Three Bangladeshi nationals die as elevator cable snaps in Malaysia

Three Bangladeshi expatriate workers have been killed after an elevator collapsed after its cables snapped at an under-construction building in Malaysia.

The relatives of the victims have being informed that the incident took place at Johor Bahru Forest City in Kuala Lumpur around 8pm on Sunday.   
 
The dead were identified as 32-year-old Toriqul Islam Toriq, 26-year-old Ajmin Hossain and 42-year-old Salahuddin, all of whom hailed from Jessore. 
 

Tariq, Ajmin and Salahuddin went to Malaysia three years ago. They were working at a 50-storey TOIC Company construction site in Johor Bahru Forest City in Malaysia, according to victims’ relatives.  
The trio died on the spot when the lift cable snapped and the elevator fell to the ground. 
All required support will be given so that the bodies can be brought home as soon as possible, said local UNO Pulak Kumar Mandal.
