Comic as well as quiz contest for school children marked the celebration at Bangabandhu Museum on Saturday. A day-long screening of documentaries showcasing the struggle of Bangabandhu was also arranged for the visitors of the museum.

Bangabandhu’s grandson Radwan Mujib Siddiq distributed prizes among the winners.

He was glad to see children painting their imagination of Bangabandhu.

“We had a hope that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman lying in the heart of children would come alive before our eyes. And the sight of children painting their imagination on our liberator testifies their deepest love for him,” he said, in his speech.

On Mar 17 in 1920, the founding father of Bangladesh was born at Tungipara in Gopalganj. The day is also celebrated in Bangladesh as National Children’s Day.

CRI since 2O14 has started an effort to popularise Bangbandhu among children. As part of that, four parts of its planned 12-part graphic novel series based on the ‘Unfinished Memoirs’ of Bangabandhu have so far been published.
