Russia, Pakistan condole US-Bangla aircraft crash deaths

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his condolences to President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the deadly plane crash at Kathmandu airport, his office said.

“The President of Russia passed on words of sympathy and support to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery to all those injured,” Kremlin said on its website.

Pakistan has also conveyed “deepest condolences” at the loss of lives in the tragedy to the government of Bangladesh and to the bereaved family members.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their bereaved families. We express our deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured,” the high commission said in a statement.

The US-Bangla passenger aircraft crashed on Monday at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu while landing with 71 on board. Of them, 49 died and 22 are undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
