Three workers dead as bus rams vehicle in Gaibandha

Three men have died and at least 12 others were injured after a bus rammed a passenger vehicle on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Gaibandha’s Palashbari.

The accident took place in the upazila’s Nuniyagari area on Saturday, police said.

The dead were identified as construction workers Zakir Hossain, 25, Khasru Mia, 55 and Raju Mia, 28.

Four of the wounded were rushed to Bogra’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital while the rest were admitted to the Palashbari Upazila Health Complex.

The Bogra-bound bus hit punctured a tire near the Sarkar Petrol Station, causing it to veer out of control and hit the other vehicle, said Inspector Abul Basar of Gobindaganj Highway Police. 

The three died on the spot, he said.
