East West University ‘2nd Best South Asian Oralist Team’ in moot court competition

Bangladesh’s East West University has emerged as the ‘2nd Best South Asian Oralist Team’ in INTA Asia-Pacific Moot Court Competition held in Singapore.

The International Trademark Association or INTA, a US-based multinational group, organised the three-day competition in collaboration with the School of Law, Singapore Management University, according to a news release.

The East West University team, which made it to the final round from Feb 22 to 24, consisted of Mooters Jannatul Shareat Disha and Esrat Jahan Siddiki while Professor Tureen Afroz was the coach and Lecturer Md Pizuar Hossain was the associate coach.

Based on the written round, 24 universities from across the world qualified to participate in the final oral round of the competition. 

The moot court team of the Department of Law, EWU is the only Bangladeshi team that qualified for the final oral round of the competition. 

Indian moot team became the ‘Best South Asian Oralist Team’.
