Robbers attacked a car of wedding guests on Kumira Bridge in Sitakunda Upazila around 3am Friday. The passengers reported the matter to RAB after the robbers looted valuables from them and fled, RAB-7 Staff Officer ASP Mimtanur Rahman told bdnews24.com.

“A RAB team reached the bridge where the robbers were sorting out the loots. They opened fire prompting the force to retaliate. A man aged around 35 was found lying dead on the ground after other robbers fled the scene,” said ASP Rahman.

The elite force recovered firearms and looted goods, including mobile phones and gold jewellery from the scene, according to Rahman.

He said the car was headed to Laksham from Hathazari.
