Mob blinds, lynches suspected robber in Shariatpur
A suspected robber has been blinded and beaten to death by a mob in Shariatpur’s Sadar Upazila.

The body will be autopsied at Shariatpur Sadar Hospital, said Palang Model Police Station SI Gulzar Hossain.
The deceased has been identified as Delwar Hossain, 40.
A group of 10-12 armed robbers attacked the home of Mosleh Uddin Howladar in Sonamukhi village late on Friday night, said SI Gulzar.
A villager returning from a wedding saw the robbers and alarmed the villagers, he said. The villagers then took up makeshift arms and surrounded the area.
“The villagers caught Delwar, beat him and gouged out his eyes. They called the police afterwards.”
Police admitted Delwar to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital, where he died on Saturday morning, the SI said.
