The accident occurred on Saturday in the south-west province of Al-Baha on Saturday evening, said Bangladesh Embassy Second Secretary (Press) Mohammad Fakhrul Islam.

The victims were migrant workers. The Bangladeshis were identified as Malam Mia, Alam Shah and Saiful Islam. Four Egyptians and two Indians were also among the victims.

They were all employed to a catering company that supplies food to patients at Baljurashi hospital, embassy officials said.

The group was on its way to Qunfuda cornice to spend the day and chose to take the mountain road to save time.

Members of the Saudi Red Crescent and the civil defence force rescued the victims and took the injured to the Prince Mishari Bin Saud Hospital in Baljurashi.

A Bangladeshi and two Indians critically injured in the accident were later relocated to Al-Baha’s King Fahad Hospital.
