RAB-3 Commander Lt Col Md Emranul Hasan told bdnews24.com Robin’s elder brother confirmed the identity of the body at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital mortuary on Sunday after seeing Robin’s photo released by the RAB.

The two others were earlier identified as Mejbah Uddin from Comilla and Nafis Ul Islam from Chittagong.  Of them, Mejbah left his pregnant wife to join militancy while schoolboy Nafis was an eighth grader, the law enforcers said.

Referring to the statement given by brother Golam Mostafa, the RAB official said Robin was the youngest of three siblings. They are from Nalka area of the district.

He was grade VI drop-out and got involved in his brother’s rice business in the locality in 2013.

Robin took some money away from their shop on Jan 7 and had been missing since then, according to a police complaint filed by his family.

Mostafa told the RAB Robin had been very much active on Facebook and used to ‘Like’ radical Islamist posts. He had also written extremist posts and comments.

RAB official Enamul said Robin had some connection with Nafis and spent a night at his home in Chittagong around three months ago.

After the Jan 12 RAB raid in Nakhalparha, the RAB identified Mejbah following National ID cards found in the house.

The elite force later released the photos of Nafis and Robin for people to identify them.
