High Court upholds death for two over rape and murder of child in Jhenaidah
The High Court has upheld death sentences for two people in a case over the rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl in Jhenaidah.

Justice Md Ruhul Quddus and Justice Bhishmadev Chakrabortty announced the verdict on Thursday after hearing the death reference and appeals of the convicts.
The convicts are Md Saiful Islam and Md Arif Hossain.
The trial court sentenced them to death seven years ago.
The convicts murdered Alpona Khatun at a crop field in Maheshpur Upazila after raping her in 2008, according to the case dossier.
The victim’s father Torab Ali filed a case with the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal the same year. The tribunal ordered the death sentence in 2011.
