Road crashes kill four across country

Three separate road crashes have killed four people across the country.

In Faridpur, two people were killed and as many were injured when a car hit a road divider on a highway amid dense fog.

Police said the accident was reported around 10am at Bhanga Upazila.

“It seems from the wrecked car that heavy fog may have caused the accident,” said highway police OC Md Ejajul Islam.

Madaripur

A bus plunged into a canal after running over a 60-year-old man in Madaripur.

Police said at least 10 passengers of the bus was injured in the accident at the district’s Kalkini Upazila.

The Dhaka-bound bus lost control and veered off the road, when a motorbike was coming from the opposite direction, said Kalkini police OC Kupasindu Bala.

Magura

A motorbike-riding policemen in Magura died after a truck ran over him.

Constable Amirul Islam was on his way to the Police Lines, when a truck hit the 30-year-old at Alamkhali area near the district town, said Sub-Inspector Abdul Mobin.

Police have seized the truck, he said.
