Two other Bangladeshis were also injured in the accident that occurred on their way to Madinah after they performed Umrah in Makkah on Thursday afternoon local time.

Labour Counsellor Aminul Islam at the Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah confirmed the news of the casualties to bdnews24.com.

The deceased have been identified as Tania Hossain, 30, and her sons Eusa Hossain, 8, and Azan Hossain, 3.

The injured are Tania’s husband Qamrul Islam Niloy and one ‘Jewel’.

Qamrul’s injury was reportedly ‘critical’.

The bodies have been kept at the mortuaries of Heraa Hospital and Al Noor Specialised Hospital.

Qamrul and Jewel were admitted to King Abdul Aziz Hospital.

Nayan Sheikh, a witness, said the car carrying the family to Madinah fell in a roadside ditch after one of its tyres punctured.

The family came to Saudi Arabia from Italy on Saturday to perform Umrah.
