A police counterterrorism unit raid arrested the detainees during a raid on Wednesday night, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations) Md Masudur Rahman.
“Abbus Samad, a founding neo-JMB member, is among the detainees,” he told bdnews24.com. He also used the aliases Arif Mamu and Ashiq.”
Police say that the neo-JMB are responsible for the 2016 Gulshan attack.
Police did not offer any additional details on Samad or the other two suspects.
Police also recovered a pistol, ammunition and nearly 200 detonators, said Masudur Rahman.
More information would be available following a press conference later on Thursday, he said.
