Hasina returns after Paris visit

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has flown back to Dhaka after a three-day visit to French capital where she attended the One Planet Summit.

Her flight landed at the Shahjalal International Airport at 5pm Thursday after a three-hour stopover in Dubai.

She boarded an Emirates flight at 9:45pm local time from the Charles de Gaulle Airport for Dhaka. She went to Paris on Monday to attend the summit.

Bangladesh Ambassador in Paris Kazi Imtiaz Hossain saw her off at the airport.

On Tuesday, attending the summit, the prime minister expressed her optimism to build a safer world with combined efforts of the world leaders.

The summit was organised to chalk out financial contribution and strategies from both government and non-government sectors to tackle the adverse impact of climate change.

British Prime Minister Theresa May, French President Emmanuel Macron, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and World Bank President Jim Yong Kim were among those who attended the summit.

Hasina, during the bilateral meeting, urged French President Macron to keep up international pressure on Myanmar to take back Rohingya refugees. Marcon spoke about a permanent solution to the crisis.

She attend a reception accorded to her by the local chapter of the Awami League on Tuesday night.

She also met the leaders of business body Movement of the Enterprises of France or MEDEF in Paris on Wednesday.
