"They are coming on Dec 19 to discuss and finalise the implementation and integrity of the instrument signed with Bangladesh on Rohingya repatriation," Haque, who is now in Paris as a member of the prime minister's entourage, told reporters on Tuesday.

Amid mounting international pressure and criticism, Myanmar signed a new instrument with Bangladesh in November in line with 1992 agreement to take back the Rohingyas who fled their homes in Rakhine state .

As per the agreement, the joint working group will finalise the modalities of the repatriation of only the recently arrived refugees.

Over 600,000 Rohingyas have taken shelter in south-eastern Bangladesh districts since Aug 25 in the face of latest violence in Rakhine State while some 400,000 others were already there in different refugee camps.

Myanmar has all along refused to recognise Rohingyas as an ethnic group or its citizen.

But in line with the 1992 agreement, they took back 2,36,599 refugees as the member of the society in Rakhine. The neighbouring country had suddenly stopped the repatriation process and refused to take back 2,415 of them selected for repatriation.
