A low over the Bay brought in the rain and gusty wind across Bangladesh including the capital when the temperature dropped by a few degrees Celsius increasing the intensity of winter.

According to the Met officials, the temperature might further drop with the clear sky.

"The low-pressure system has moved away. The sky will also clear by Monday. We will have a clear sky except for Chittagong, Comilla and Chandpur. Rain will also dissipate," meteorologist Ruhul Kuddus told bdnews24.com.

He also said a cold wave might sweep the country at the end of December when the temperature might drop below 10-degree Celsius.

In last 24 hours, a total of 15 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in Dhaka while the highest 62 millimetres were recorded in Chandpur.

The Met office had asked all ports and coastal regions to hoist signal no. 3 on Friday when the weather system formed over the Bay.
