Fire at Natore Tower in Uttara, no casualties reported

The fire service personnel have rushed to the scene after a multi-storey shopping mall in Dhaka’s Uttara caught fire.

No casualties were reported in the fire that originated and quickly spread on the third floor of the 14-storey building, 'Natore Tower', located at road no. 2 of sector 13 in the area around 12:30am on Sunday, the Fire Service said.

Farid Uddin, an official at the Fire Service control room, said nine units of firefighters brought the blaze under control at around 2am.

West Uttara Police Station Inspector Nasir Uddin said the third floor of the building houses a food court along with around 20 shops.

Neither police nor the Fire Service could say how the fire originated. They also could not mention the extent of damage caused by the fire.
