It issued the order signed by Deputy Secretary Md Sajjadul Hassan on Tuesday to the secretaries to the Prime Minister’s Office, ministries, divisions and organisations under them, and all the divisional commissioners.

It has asked everyone to put up the celebrations in a grand manner throughout the country. Dhaka-based officers have been asked to be present at the programme to be held at the Suhrawardy Udyan.

The district officers have been asked to take part in their local events and make necessary arrangements to make them up to the mark.

UNESCO recently added the speech, alongside 77 other historic documents, to its Memory of the World International Register.

The Citizens' Committee organised a rally at the Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday to celebrate the recognition.

Suhrawardy Udyan, formerly known as Racecourse Maidan, is the ground where Bangabandhu delivered the fiery speech in 1971. “Our struggle this time is the struggle for freedom; our struggle this time is the struggle for independence,” he told the huge crowd to inspire them to take up arms for independence from Pakistan.
