Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia told reporters about the traffic restrictions after visiting the security preparations surrounding Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi 32 on Sunday.

He said no vehicles would be allowed from Sonargaon crossing to Science Lab and Dhanmondi 12 via Russell Square in the morning.

Roadside parking will not be allowed from Russell Square to Sobhanbagh Mosque.

VVIP, VIP and top military and civil officers will have to enter Dhanmondi 32 through the street next to Metro Shopping Centre. They will take the same road for leaving.

Political parties, social and cultural organisations and others will have to enter Dhanmondi 32 from the east and leave through the west.

The DMP commissioner asked people to follow the map with instructions for traffic on that day.

He said the restrictions would be lifted gradually when the president, the prime minister and other VIPs leave Dhanmondi 32 after placing wreaths on Bangabandhu's mural there.

People will also visit the Banani Graveyard to pay respects to the victims of the carnage at their graves.
