The party’s general secretary was replying to journalists’ questions about his meeting with Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha during a discussion on Sunday.

The meeting on Saturday generated both curiosity and debate. Quader, also road transport minister, has refused to comment on the meeting before the end of talks.

“I visited the honourable chief justice at his home yesterday. We had a discussion. I let him know our party’s stance on his observation in the verdict that cancelled the 16th constitutional amendment,” said Quader.

“We spoke for a long time. There will be more meetings. Our discussion has not ended. I don’t want to say anything before it ends. You’ll get to know in time, I will tell you.”

The Awami League, by going to see the chief justice, exerted pressure on him over the verdict, the BNP said.
