Seven die as train hits autorickshaw at level crossing in Jamalpur 

Seven passengers of an autorickshaw have died after being hit by a train at a level crossing in Jamalpur.

The incident took place at Chandra Level Crossing around 6pm Wednesday, said Jamalpur GRP Police Station OC Nasirul Islam Majumder.

One person was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital with injuries, he said.

A local train headed to Dewanganj from Jamalpur hit the autorickshaw, killing one of its passengers on the spot and injuring six others.

Of the six, one died at Jamalpur Sadar Hospital and four succumbed to their wounds on the way to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital.

Another injured person later died at Muktagacha Upazila Health Complex.
