"Those who committed the killings used to visit our house regularly," she told a rally on Tuesday at Krishak League blood donation programme in Dhaka's Dhanmondi.

"People should know about the perpetrators who betrayed Bangabandhu (Sheikh Mujibur Rahman)," she said describing August 1975 days.

"(Major) Dalim's wife, mother-in-law and sister-in-law used to spend hours in our house," said Hasina, the elder daughter of Bangabandhu.

She also spoke about Noor Chowdhury, Syed Faruque Rahman and Ziaur Rahman at the function of her party’s peasant front.

"Another perpetrator, Noor Chowdhury, along with Sheikh Kamal, was the ADC to the chief of armed forces MAG Osmani.

She said, "Finance minister of Bangabandhu's cabinet Azizur Rahman (AR) Mallick was the maternal uncle of another killer Syed Faruque Rahman."

"AR Mallick became a minister of Khondaker Mostaq Ahmad cabinet after Bangabandhu's killing," she added.

Founding father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members were killed in a military putsch on Aug 15, 1975.

Hasina and her younger sister Sheikh Rehana survived the carnage because they were staying abroad at that time.

The prime minister said, "Rashid, another killer of Bangabandhu, is a relative of Mostaq, then a minister in Bangabandhu's cabinet."

She said Mostaq was joint secretary of the Awami League with Bangabandhu in 1949 when the party was founded.

"Mostaq was a minister of the cabinet, and he betrayed."

"Bangabandhu promoted Ziaur Raman to the post of major general, and also sorted out his family troubles."

"Zia and his wife Khaleda used to come to our house at least two to three times every month."

"With the killing of Bangabandhu, the ideology and triumph of the nation were buried."

The Awami League chief Hasina said, “What the Pakistani enemy could not do, the closest people who often visited our house did that."

Comparing the Aug 15 carnage with the Karbala tragedy, the prime minister said, "Many killings had taken place at that time, but there was no example of killing the whole family."

She termed Aug 15 the ‘dark chapter' of Bangladesh.

"The founding father repaid his debt to the nation with his blood, and he did not take anything with him," Hasina told the audience as her voice choked.

She also said the hostility towards her family was so high that they could not buy the burial clothes. "During burial, he was draped with the clothes taken from the Red Crescent office."

Hasina said, "Those who could not accept independence of Bangladesh were involved in the killing of Bangabandhu."

Krishak League President Motahar Hossain Molla chaired the meeting, addressed by among others Matia Chowdhury, Mohammed Nasim and Muhammad Abdur Razzaque.
