Tufan Sarkar was arrested along with associates ‘Dipu’, ‘Rupom’ and ‘Atik’ on Friday night.
Police did not seek to question Atik because he already made a confession, said Additional Superintendent of Police Sanatan Chakraborty.
On Sunday, Senior Judicial Magistrate Abdullah Al Mamun ordered Tufan to be questioned in police custody for three days.
Tufan has also been expelled as a convener of Bogra Sramik League, the ruling Awami League’s labour wing, said Shams Uddin Sheikh Helal, the district unit’s general secretary.
The alleged victim and her mother were picked up from their home in Bogra by Tufan’s relatives and several miscreants before they filed a rape and assault case against the Sramik League leader.
Police arrested Asha's father Jamilur Rahman Runu, mother Rumi Khatun and sister Marzia, a reserved seat councillor for the municipality from Pabna town on Sunday evening, said ASP Chakraborty. They were yet to detain Asha, he said.
The alleged victim and her mother were visited by Deputy Commissioner Noor-e-Alam Siddiki at Bogra’s Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital on Sunday.
He said a three-member committee headed by Assistant Deputy Commissioner Abdus Samad will investigate the involvement of Marzia because she is a public representative.
DC Siddiki said he will bear the treatment and education costs for the young girl who passed her Secondary School Certificate exam this year.
She accused Tufan of raping her on Jul 17 and several times later after luring her with the promise to help her get into a good college. She said his associates helped him in the act.
Tufan’s family proposed marriage to her on his behalf, the alleged victim told reporters at the hospital. They even suggested that Tufan would leave his wife Asha to marry her, she said.
