The incident was reported early Sunday from the hilly northeastern district's Baralekha Upazila's Dimai area, said local police.
The dead have been identified as Asiya Begum, 40, and her 13-year-old daughter Fahmida.
Asiya and her daughter were buried under mud after the landslide struck their home, said Baralekha police OC Shahidul Islam.
He said the fire service, police and locals retrieved the bodies around 9am.
Nonstop rains since late Saturday caused landslides on several hills in Dimai area between 3am and 4am on Sunday and inundated low-lying areas in Baralekha Upazila town.
Rainwaters have left at least 20,000 people marooned in Baralekha, said Municipality Mayor Kamran Hossain.
