The charity was given the responsibility for the burial as nobody came forward to claim the bodies of 'Shakira' alias Tahira, 35 and Afif Qaderi, 14.

They were killed on Dec 24 when the law-enforcers raided the house named ‘Shurja villa’ which they were using as a hideout.

Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Media) told bdnews24.com that the two bodies were handed over to the representatives of Anjuman from Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue Tuesday noon.

“Since there had been no claimant of the bodies for a long time, those were handed to the Anjuman,” he said.

Afif was one of the twin sons of terrorist Tanvir Qaderi who was killed in Azimpur raid on Sept 10, while Tahira was learnt to be the wife of fugitive terrorist Rashedur Rahman Sumon.

During the Ashkona raid on Dec 24, wearing a suicide vest Tahira came out of the Surja Villa with the boy and blew herself. Afif was fatally wounded in the blast and arrested.

Afif’s father Tanvir was about to take responsibilities as coordinator of the Neo-JMB after the death of Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury.
