EC fixes Mar 30 for voting in Comilla City polls, Sunamganj-2 by-election

Schedule for the Comilla City Corporation polls and by-election for the Sunamganj parliamentary seat fallen vacant after death of Awami League leader Suranjit Sengupta have been announced.
The newly-formed Election Commission led by KM Nurul Huda has fixed Mar 30 for the voting.
Chief Election Commissioner Huda told a media briefing on Monday that the deadline to file nominations for the elections is Mar 2.
Officials will scrutinise nominations submitted for the Sunamganj -2 bypolls on Mar 5 while the last day to withdraw from the race is Mar 13.
For the Comilla city polls, nominations will be scrutinised on Mar 5 and 6 while the deadline for aspirants to pull out ends on Mar 14, said the CEC.
