The arrested persons have been identified as Khairul Amin (Borho) and Master Abdul Kalam Azad.

Speaking to bdnews24.com, Cox's Bazar RAB-7 Company Commander Ashikur Rahman said, "One pistol and one single shooter gun were recovered from their possessionwhen they were arrested."

He said that the duo were arrested at about 9:30pm on Monday from Ukhia's Kutupalong area.

Detailed identities of the detainees could not be ascertained immediately.

RAB believes Khairul Amin is the mastermind of the attack and said that details would be shared after the operation was over.

RAB spokesperson Mufti Mahmud Khan, in a text message to bdnews24.com, said later at night that the elite force "launched a drive to recover the looted arms at the hills in Naikkhyangchharhi of Bandarban, adjacent to Cox's Bazar.”

Miscreants mounted an attack on the Ansar barracks at a Rohingya refugee camp in Hnilar Muchni area on May 13 last year.

Commander Ali Hossain, 55, was shot dead by miscreants during the attack, after which they stole arms and ammunition used by Ansar, and fled.

The next day, commander in charge of the camp Md Alamgir Hossain lodged a complaint against 30 to 35 unidentified individuals for the murder and looting.
