This is the third time the house of a Hindu family, second of Anjan, has been torched after the temples, houses and businesses of the people from the religious minority in the area were vandalised and looted on Oct 30.

Police said no-one was injured in the arson attack on Anjan's home next to a girls' school in the Upazila headquarters on Wednesday evening.

"Miscreants set fire to a cowshed. A portion of the shed has been torched," Anjan told bdnews24.com.

The local people doused the fire.

"I've heard that miscreants set fire to an empty cowshed. I am on my way to the place," Superintendent of Police Md Mizanur Rahman said.

Four days after the Oct 30 attacks on the Hindus following a Facebook post allegedly insulting Islam, jute-sticks piled up at the yard of Anjan's house were burnt in an arson attack.

A temple and several other houses were also torched on that day.

The house of another Hindu family came under a similar arson attack on Nov 13. A room to keep fishnets was burnt.

Police on Monday announced Tk 100,000 reward for the capture or information leading to the arrest of each of those involved in the arson attacks.

bdnews24.com investigations found rivalry between Brahmanbarhia Awami League President RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury MP and Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammed Sayedul Hoque, who represents Nasirnagar in Parliament, behind the mayhem in Nasirnagar.

Anjan, the president of Nasirnagar unit of the Awami League's youth affiliate Juba League, is known to be a follower of Sayedul.
