A man has been killed on the spot and at least 25 others injured after a collision between a bus and an octane-carrying lorry in Chittagong's Sitakunda.
The accident occurred near Sitakunda Health Complex on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway on Friday morning.
Sitakunda Fire Service Station official Md Fakhruddin told bdnews24.com that the deceased, in his 30s, was the assistant of the bus driver, but could not identify him.
He said the Cox's Bazar-bound Unique Paribahan bus had rear-ended the lorry which in turn hit the road divider. The bus then fell into a roadside ditch.
Twenty-five passengers of the bus were rescued. Four of them were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital while the rest were given first aid and released.
