During the meeting on Tuesday at the minister’s office, he thanked the foreign minister for his support to him in discharging his duties during his more than four years of stay in Bangladesh.
The foreign ministry said the Ambassador briefed the minister about the development of bilateral relations, and said Bangladesh and Egypt were “now active partners of political, economic, trade and cultural cooperation”.
He appreciated the contributions of Bangladesh expatriates to the Egyptian economy.
He also invited the foreign minister to visit Egypt.
Ali appreciated the Ambassador for his “effective role played and positive contributions made” as the Ambassador of Egypt in Bangladesh as well as the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Dhaka.
The Ambassador is scheduled to depart for Egypt in the last week of this month, the foreign ministry said.
