On the night of Jun 2, Sayma Shikder, 22, was admitted to the city’s Patient Care Hospital after she went into labour.
She gave birth to a boy after a C-section at the hospital around 2am.
Relatives alleged that she was not brought out from the operation theatre after the surgery.
She was shifted to the Metropolitan Hospital around 7am, where the doctors said she had already died.
The family initiated a lawsuit against Kajal Rekha Rani, who performed the surgery, anaesthetist Devashish Talukder and the clinic’s managing director Abdul Jabbar.
On Thursday, the court took cognisance of the charges and ordered their arrests.
“Authorities of the hospital, where the patient was later taken, did not admit her as she had died an hour ago, which has been stated in the documents issued by that hospital,” said the plaintiff’s lawyer Azharul.
