The bilateral meeting between the two heads of government took place at Shima Kanko Hotel in Kashiko Island on Friday afternoon (local time).

The officials on Hasina’s entourage said the two prime ministers discussed several bilateral issues.

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Hoque accompanied Hasina in the meeting.

The prime minister earlier met Cameron at 10 Downing Street in London in July 2014 during the Girl Summit.

The British prime minister praised Hasina’s leadership in socioeconomic development and ensuring gender inequality in that meeting. He had assured her government of continuous support.

He had also expressed eagerness to visit Bangladesh to see the successes of the Hasina government.

Hasina greeted him and renewed her invitation when Cameron’s Conservative Party was re-elected last year.

The Bangladesh prime minister arrived in Japan’s Nagoya on Thursday. She joined the inaugural session of G7 Outreach Meeting on Friday morning.

Apart from Hasina, the heads of state or government of Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea and Chad are representing Asia and Africa at the meeting.

US President Barack Obama, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Cameron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were also present.
